Just because it’s the start of a new year doesn’t mean the celebration has to stop!

2012-berg-Evan-302-shrunk
For over ten years, the dynamic composer/producer/pianist Neil Berg (The Prince & The Pauper, The Twelve, Grumpy Old Men, 100 Years of Broadway) has brought Town Hall theater goers evenings filled with Broadway hits, Pop classics and Holiday favorites. And this year will prove to be no different! Neil will be once again sharing the stage and co-hosting the evening with 5 time Broadway star, Trans-Siberian Orchestra platinum recording artist and Irvington resident, Rob Evan. As always, current and past Broadway stars will recreate moments from the Great White Way as well as perform some of their favorite tunes. This year a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Dr. Ritchie Schwartz Foundation.
Do not miss this sell-out! It's like having Broadway in your very own living room.

Broadway Comes Back to Barbados
On Wednesday, February 27, 2013, Diamonds International Barbados and its strategic partners held a press conference at the beautiful St. Peter's Bay to announce the return of Broadway to Barbados.

A number of corporate lead sponsors have come together to bring back the stage performance "Broadway to Barbados". Between 2001 and 2007, this show performed to sold-out audiences at the Frank Collymore Hall in Barbados.
Mr. Jacob Hassid, Diamonds International's Managing Director, gave special thanks to his friends and fellow sponsors of the initiative and explains that Eldorado Gold Barbados (an oversees gold mining company based in Vancouver) has already purchased the critical piece of equipment for the QEH.
The show returns to that venue from March 20th to 23 as well as the 26th and 27th, with a cast of professional Broadway performers from New York. The curtain goes up at 8 each night.
CMD-Barbados-Cabaret
This initiative has been undertaken in support of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). It is specifically intended to provide up-to-date sophisticated diagnostic equipment for the anticipated new Medical Intensive Care Unit, which is expected to be operational at the beginning of 2013.
CMD,Dustin & Gang-Summer Nights(crop)
Surplus proceeds from the Broadway Show will go towards the purchase of additional new equipment. A cash reserve will also be maintained to facilitate any future repairs necessary to the newly acquired equipment.
Stars of Barbados

In addition, a Trust fund will be established to hold the funds raised and a small committee of individuals from the business community will work with QEH representatives to identify the most cost effective piece of equipment available. The cash reserves for possible future maintenance of the equipment will be administered by this same committee.
Cast & Crew
Special thanks to all strategic partners: St. Peter's Bay, Archer's Hall Design Centre, Eldorado Gold, Scotiabank, GKSpringhead, Digicel, United Insurance and LOVE 104.1 FM. The Barbados Business Community is being encouraged to fully supporting this initiative through their support of the Broadway Show.
The intention is to make Broadway to Barbados an annual, allowing for a continuing effort to support the critical equipment needs of the QEH.

New York City
Carole Demas Afterglow performance
for the University Glee Club
Glee Club

Afterglows : It was never enough to simply rehearse and perform-from the beginning the UGC members sought each other's company and the company of amusing and/or musically gifted friends in additional settings. The early UGC "smokers" preceded the afterglow tradition. The first recorded in club archives was held on May 3, 1902, when Gentleman Jim Corbett, the ex-heavyweight boxing champion, accepted an invitation to referee a match between two UGC members as the club looked on. Gentleman Jim was unaware that the two contenders had slit their gloves before the fight and stuffed them with cranberries. He was appalled by the apparent carnage as the first blows were landed and the juice spurted all over the boxers.
Smokers were generally held twice a year, with informal singing, free flowing beer, and outside entertainers. Then, when the UGC began rehearsing at the National Republican Club in 1923, it became customary for members to gather after rehearsals for song and drink at the Club's grill. By 1955, this custom had caught on to the point that a Director of Club Activities was appointed to assure an interesting blend of in-house events and invited singing groups, soloists, and musicians following the rehearsals. The afterglow had become an official tradition.

On March 26, 2012, Mark Janas underwent emergency brain surgery to remove a cavernous malformation from his brain stem. His strong and speedy recovery is a testament to his will to live and positive attitude. He does however still have issues with partial eye and facial paralysis that have resulted in double vision and some speech difficulties which we hope, with time, will improve.

The TOWER of HOPE
Providing Service Dogs for Independent Living
6th Annual Gala "Proud to be American!"
Honoring: D. Bertoline & Sons, their suppliers and customers in Westchester and Putnam for their enduring support of Veterans and Spc. Andy Kingsley awarded the Purple Heart.
Friends and supporters will gather to pay homage to 8 of our wounded warriors and the service dogs we funded help us raise money to fund "100 Dogs in 1,000 Days".
The Tower of Hope's mission is to empower people who are living with a disability or a chronic illness to live more independently by providing them with specially trained service dogs. Our primary focus is on providing these amazing animals to wounded veterans - those that have suffered great physical or mental trauma defending our freedom. Having a service dog to help get through the day, and to be a constant companion, is truly a life-altering gift that we can give to these brave men and women.
You can help us give those in-need a chance to lead a better life, one with greater hope and purpose. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to The Tower of Hope. It takes 18-24 months and costs an average $25,000 to train each service dog. Every dollar donated helps us to fund the training of another service dog and enriches the life of someone in need.

Irvington, New York
Carole Demas In Concert
Carole brings her special touch
to a full evening concert

as a special benefit for
The Irvington Town Hall Theatre
and to celebrate the new piano.
This will be an extraordinary show
Featuring great music, great fun,
and a great time for all.
Carole sings songs from
Broadway, the American Songbook,
Pop, Rock and some Holiday touches.
Many of her favorites,
A truly wonderful evening, not to be missed.

Here are some of her reviews:
“…Demas….a powerhouse
of musical theatre”
“now that she's finally pulled out
all the stops in every way possible ...
it's hardly a secret
that it was worth the fifteen-year wait
for every blessed second.”
“…the evening emerges as …
a phenomenally-inventive evening of showmanship”
“ ……the result is so heaven-sent that at times
she appears almost a cross of Judy Collins and Betty Buckley,
besides steadfastly remaining her own true self.”
“ It's obvious to call her a vocal champion a few numbers into the evening…..”
“Ian Herman, who does a singularly spectacular job
with the lady's music and arrangements….”
“…..the lady is physically and vocally ageless,
and both looks and sounds as though she just emerged from a 1973 time capsule”
“The point cannot be driven home more strongly.
Carole Demas is a knockout in every possible way. ….. and simply shouldn't be missed.”
"Carole Demas ….. looking youthful …. and proud of every moment of her long and fulfilling career....."
"Demas’ soprano radiates a softness, with dramatic touches, …and a nostalgic fervor in the simplicity and sweetness …. "
(with)” A special connection and passion ….."
"Her audience couldn't get enough…”
